This digital color library is based on the DIC Color Guide, a prominent color sample book with significant market share in Japan. It serves as a comprehensive tool for color communication, allowing users to select, stock, discuss, and share their preferred colors from a palette of 2,553 options.

Since its launch in 2011, the application has been available free of charge and has gained considerable popularity among professionals.

<li>Provides the ability to preview how DIC Color Guide colors will appear when printed on various substrates such as different paper types, metal, and film.</li>
<li>Includes the “Traditional Colors Series” library, featuring colors from Japan, France, and China, along with their historical origins.</li>
<li>Permits grouping of selected colors for stock management and the addition of textual notes for easy reference.</li>
<li>Supports exporting color swatch data compatible with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, including RGB and CMYK values via email.</li>
<li>Features calibration cards to convert colors under different lighting conditions—such as sunlight, fluorescent light, or LED—to simulated colors matching standard illuminants (D50/D65). (Subscription required)</li>

*Note: Calibration may occasionally result in artifacts like jaggies or moiré patterns. Calibration cards are sold separately through the DIC Graphics Store and ship approximately two weeks after purchase.

[Usage Precautions]

<li>A supported mobile device, a well-lit environment, and a clean camera lens are necessary for optimal results.</li>
<li>Photograph the calibration card in a bright setting—approximately 700 lux indoors or up to 65,000 lux under sunny conditions—avoiding reflections or shadows that could impair calibration accuracy.</li>
<li>Search results may vary depending on the age and condition of the Color Guide or calibration cards, which are valid for one year. Extended validity may occur due to inventory or shipping considerations.</li>
<li>The expiration date of calibration cards is displayed within the app’s Subscription Management Screen.</li>

<li>The presence of films, glass, or other materials on device screens can affect color fidelity, potentially leading to discoloration. It is recommended to use devices without such coverings.</li>
